It's this time of year...
The snow is gently falling outside, blanketing the ground in whiteness...
The lake froze over last-night...
The rink boards are up...
My snowboard is calling me...
And so are my skates and hockey stick...
One day less than a month until Christmas...
Christmas music is playing...
The Christmas parade is tonight--of course I'm gonna pretend I'm a "kid" again and go, just for fun...
Today is Christmas shopping with my neighbour and little sisters...
Gifts are starting to show up, wrapped, and ready...
Online Christmas shopping last-night...
The smell of Christmas cookies baking is here...
The house looks like Christmas in all it's decorations...
And of course, I must do school. So among all this Christmas-ness, I will curl up in a warm blanket, make a hot cup of cider, light a candle, and pull out my Nursing Theory exam notes... You know, it doesn't even sound so bad, because we are coming to the end. Although my college friends and I were discussing the fact that we are not retaining anything anymore. We are all so tired of school, it will be a wonder if we make it to Christmas break! But we still have two exams, three finals, a presentation, skill-testing, and one more week of clinical. I may survive. I am not.
But the countdown is on--18 days til' Christmas break...
And 27 days til' we leave for Southern Ontario...
Yes--I think I can survive. I think I will survive. And so here I go, to grab that blanket, cider, and study notes...find a cozy corner to study, and while the ground covers in whiteness, and the countdown is on for Christmas, I'll have my nose buried in notes--memorizing all about fractures, spinal cord injuries, head injuries, pregnancy complications, intra-cranial pressure, strokes, and the list could go on... I hope you all have a lovely snow-filled day!
