You know, there is someone in my life. A very important someone. He has always been in my life. And because of that, sometimes I feel I don't show my appreciation for him as much as I should. Not because I don't want to, just because I don't think of doing it. But this man is very important to me. He is the leader of my home. He is always here for me, always willing to talk, always open to giving advice, and always ready with a listening ear if I need him.
This man is my Dad!
Dad has taught me so much. He has taught me about life. He showed me through his words and actions what it is to live a live fully sold out for Christ. He has been the spiritual leader of our home. He taught me to live life to the fullest. He encourages me to pursue my dreams, and to dream high! And he is always doing random acts of kindness for me. Things I notice, things I thank him for, and things I appreciate.
The past two mornings, when I got up at crazy early hours for clinical, he couldn't sleep. So he was up, and had my coffee ready for me when I came down, cream and all! Then he'd go out in the freezing -45 [with windchill] weather and having my car humming like a bird, and warm as an oven for me when I'd have to leave. I am thankful for this man.
When life feels overwhelming. When I feel like giving up, my dad is here for me! Full of encouraging words, full of support. He hears me out. He listens. He loves me, his daughter. When I have questions about my future, concerns, fears, I go to him. And he supports me, he talks me through it, and he gives me hope. His desire to protect me is HUGE! This is the man who has been in my life since day one. As a baby, he held me, he loved me, he cuddled me. And now, as I'm in this stage in life, he is by my side when I need him, loving me, supporting me, and being the Dad I need!
And so, this is just a little tribute to my Daddy -- one of the people I love the most in life!
Thank you, Dad! I love you.
The two of us!
